Access Control - Server Rack Security

One example of how Mastiff is able to adapt products to meet the specific requirements of customers is Server Rack Security.

We have extended the concept of door control and monitoring to provide a solution to protect and monitor access to Server Racks.

 

With the current state of technology, many companies do not always have their own IT department and they may have their server racks located with others in specialised data centres. Access to these buildings can be very secure but once an engineer is inside, accidental or malicious damage can occurr if access is given to equipment for which he/she is not responsibe.

 

Because of the potentially vast sums of money involved when IT problems occur, many companies and insurers now insist that all activity within a Server room is fully monitored.

 

Using a highly customised version of Sensor's GuardPoint Pro, Mastiff can provide additional access control on a door by door basis to any number of racks. Access to the individual racks can be determined by presentation of a valid card or fingerprint or combination of the two. The acivity is logged on central software which can be located on or off site and a graphical interface allows the status of all controlled doors to be monitored at all times.

 

Combining this system with CCTV, which Mastiff is also able to supply and install, provides a maximum security solution.
